Refund & Cancellation Policy
TEKA is a monthly or annual subscription with a free trial at the start. This page sets out exactly when you get money back, how to cancel, and what changes if you subscribed through an app store instead of our website.

1. The short version
| Free trial | 14 days, no payment method required, nothing charged |
|---|---|
| Cancel | Any time, in the app. Access runs to the end of the paid period |
| First paid charge | Full refund if you ask within 14 days |
| Annual plan, first purchase | Full refund if you ask within 30 days |
| Unused renewal | Full refund within 7 days of the charge if the account was not used in that period |
| Bought in the iOS or Android app | Apple or Google issues the refund, not us |
2. Trial period
New accounts can run TEKA free for 14 days without entering a payment method. Nothing is charged during the trial and it does not convert automatically into a paid plan — you choose a plan when you are ready. If you do nothing, the account becomes read-only at the end of the trial so you can still export what you created.
Waitlist members invited to the private beta use the product free for the whole beta period, and are told in writing before any charge could ever apply.
3. How to cancel
Subscribed on our website
Open Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription in the web dashboard. Cancellation is immediate and stops the next renewal. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you can export your data during that time and for 30 days after.
Subscribed inside the iOS or Android app
Cancel in your store account, not in TEKA: on iOS open Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android open Play Store → Subscriptions. We cannot cancel a store subscription for you, because the store holds the billing relationship.
Cancelling is not the same as deleting your account. To have your data deleted, ask us at [email protected] or use the delete option in Settings; retention is described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Refunds on web subscriptions
These terms apply where TEKA DIGITAL LLC charged you directly:
- First payment, monthly plan. Ask within 14 days of the charge and we refund it in full, whether or not you used the product.
- First payment, annual plan. Ask within 30 days of the charge and we refund it in full.
- Renewal you did not intend. If a renewal charged and the account had no activity in that billing period, ask within 7 days of the charge and we refund it in full.
- Duplicate or incorrect charge. Refunded in full as soon as we confirm it, regardless of any time limit.
- A defect that stops you working. If a fault we cannot fix in a reasonable time prevents you using a core feature, tell us and we will refund the affected period pro rata, or the whole period if the product was unusable.
- Mid-period cancellation outside the windows above. The current period is not refunded by default, but access continues to the end of it. If your circumstances are unusual — a business closing, a bereavement, a charge you clearly did not intend — write to us. We would rather sort it out than argue about it.
5. Refunds on app store purchases
If you bought a subscription inside the iOS or Android app, Apple or Google is the seller of record. They take the payment, they hold the receipt, and only they can refund it. We have no ability to reverse those charges.
- Apple: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, or through Apple Support.
- Google Play: request a refund from your order history in the Play Store, or through Google Play Support.
Apple's and Google's own refund rules and time limits apply, and their decision is final. If a store declines a request you believe was fair, write to [email protected] and we will look at what we can do on our side, such as credit on a future web subscription.
6. How to request a refund
Email [email protected] from the address on the account and include:
- the account email address and business name;
- the date and amount of the charge, or the invoice number;
- a sentence about what happened — you do not need to justify it inside the windows in section 4.
We acknowledge every request within one business day and give you a decision within three.
7. How long it takes
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. We send them within 3 business days of approval. Your bank or card issuer then takes its own time, typically 5 to 10 business days, occasionally a full statement cycle. We cannot refund to a different card, account or person than the one that paid.
8. When we cannot refund
- Charges older than the windows in section 4, unless the charge was an error on our side.
- Accounts terminated for a material breach of the Terms of Service, such as abusive use or attempting to access another customer's data.
- Partial months already used on a monthly plan, outside the cases listed in section 4.
- Third-party costs you incurred elsewhere, such as your own connectivity, hardware or subcontractors.
- Downtime caused by something outside our control, including your internet connection, your device, or a general outage of a public network. Section 10 covers our own outages.
9. Downgrades and seat changes
Adding seats mid-period is billed pro rata for the remainder of the period. Removing seats or moving to a smaller plan takes effect at the next renewal; we do not refund the difference for the period already paid, and no credit expires before your next renewal date. Switching from monthly to annual applies the unused portion of the current month to the annual charge.
10. Service credits
If the service is unavailable through our own fault for more than 8 consecutive hours in a calendar month, tell us and we will credit 10% of that month's fee for each such period, to a maximum of one month's fee. Credits are applied to future invoices and are the standard remedy for downtime. Where a month is largely unusable, section 4 lets us refund cash instead.
11. Taxes
Prices are shown in US dollars, exclusive of tax. Where sales, use or value added tax was added to a charge, a refund includes that tax. If a tax authority does not permit us to reclaim it, we refund the net amount and tell you why.
12. Disputes and chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. Almost every dispute we see is a renewal someone forgot about, and we can usually settle it the same day. A chargeback filed without contacting us first may lead to the account being suspended until the dispute is resolved, because the processor freezes the balance in question.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version that applies to a charge is the version published on the date of that charge, so a later change cannot reduce a refund right you already had. Material changes are announced by email or in the app at least 14 days in advance.
